Dr. Madhu Gundlapalli is the former clinical director of the Utah State Hospital. Her clinical interests are in adult and geriatric psychiatry and the interface between psychiatry and medicine. She received her medical degree from the Madras Medical College in Madras (now Chennai), India and received further training at the University of Connecticut Health Center where she completed a psychiatry residency. She also attended Yale University completing a geriatric psychiatry fellowship. Dr. Gundlapalli has a 20-year association with the Utah State Hospital, first as the clinical director for the 30-bed geriatric and older adult program where she led a multi-disciplinary team for 14 years and 6 years as the hospital’s clinical director. She is board certified in psychiatry and neurology. Her current interests are in process improvement, change management, and improving collaboration among systems.
