Rich Saunders has been with the Utah Department of Health since April 2015. He brings 23 years of business experience from the private sector with significant involvement in product manufacturing, retail sales, construction, and SAAS product management. Rich has a passion for helping people achieve their goals and treasures the great people he works with in the public sector. He currently plays an integral role in developing and implementing a department-wide performance management model that promotes a culture of accountability and continuous quality improvement. He is skilled in working with teams of people to unravel constraints and unleash performance. Covered topics include why ‘making the case’ is so important, how to answer the question ‘What are we buying with the requested funds?’, and how to represent critical-need requests, among other concepts. Workshop presenters will include a panel of agency experts who will offer general best practices and context-specific guidance for creating successful requests.
