In 1998, Dennis Franklin began his career at the Utah State Prison in Draper as a correctional officer. He later became a probation/parole officer and then served as the director of the Orange Street Community Correctional Center. Dennis’ focus is on successful offender re-entry into our communities with a direct emphasis on the use of evidence-based practices to support lasting prosocial changes in offenders. Dennis has been a driving force in the Department of Correction’s adoption and use of the current quality assurance program for offender risk assessment. In 2015, he retired after 25 years of service from the U.S. Navy Reserve as a Chief Petty Officer. Dennis, his wife Carrie, and their six children live in Honeyville, Utah.
