Nampachi Hayashi

Board of Directors, Toyota Motor Company

Nampachi Hayashi joined Toyota Motor Company in 1966 and is one of the last direct proteges of Taiichi Ohno, creator of the Toyota Production Systems (TPS). He served as a Senior Technical Executive of Toyota, and from 2009, has sat on the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Hayashi is a member of the “Productivity Improvement Citizens Advancement Council” advanced by Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Mr. Hayashi is well known around the world for his humor and liveliness to explain the essence of the Toyota Production System as it applies to various industries and work environments.

Rami Goldratt

Chief Executive Officer, Goldratt Consulting

Rami Goldratt currently serves as CEO of Goldratt Group, the leading organization in Theory of Constraint (TOC) implementations. Over the years, Rami has been involved in consulting engagements with retail, automotive, textile, chemical, and service industries from all around the world. Rami is considered one of the most influential leaders of the TOC body of knowledge and is highly regarded for developing the TOC applications to sales and marketing. His ground-breaking implementations have become the TOC standard for sales. Rami was also among the pioneers in developing and implementing TOC applications for the education system–guiding hundreds of teachers around the world in applying the TOC thinking process to children’s education.

Lisa Scheinkopf

Partner, Goldratt Consulting

Lisa Scheinkopf is a Partner with Goldratt Consulting and serves as the Global Director of The Goldratt School. Lisa is a 2018 recipient of the TOCICO Lifetime Achievement Award. Lisa has been at the forefront of TOC for more than 25 years, using her passion for breaking down barriers between people to transform the powerful breakthrough thinking of TOC into actions and results that benefit all stakeholders. Lisa has consulted to companies large and small around the world, teaching and coaching from the top floor to the shop floor, and developed new TOC based solutions that apply across a broad spectrum of industries.

Spencer Cox

Lt. Governor of Utah

Spencer J. Cox is Utah's 8th Lieutenant Governor and is from Fairview, Utah. He is a graduate of Snow College, Utah State University, and Washington and Lee Law School. He formerly practiced law with Fabian & Clendenin and served as vice president and general counsel for CentraCom. He has served as a councilman and mayor of Fairview, as a Sanpete County commissioner, and in the Utah House of Representatives.

Lt. Governor Cox serves as the chief election officer and liaison between the governor and the legislature. He travels extensively throughout the state supporting economic development and local government solutions. He is committed to strengthening families, transforming education, increasing voter participation, utilizing modern technologies, promoting healthy living and empowering the homeless and impoverished.

He and his wife Abby have four children and they all enjoy spending time in Utah’s amazing backcountry. He also plays the bass guitar with his brother in a local rock band.

Noelle Cockett

President, Utah State University

President Cockett was appointed as Utah State University’s 16th president in October 2016 and began her official tenure in January 2017. At the time of the announcement, Cockett was serving as USU’s executive vice president and provost, a position she held since 2013. Her former assignments included vice president of USU extension, dean of the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, and director of the Utah Agriculture Experiment Station. Cockett joined USU in 1990 as a researcher and assistant professor in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences.

Cockett built her distinguished career in sheep genomics research, maintaining an active research program even while serving in various leadership positions at USU. In 2014, Cockett and her colleagues published an article describing the sheep genome sequence in Science magazine. Cockett grew up on a cattle ranch in eastern Montana. She and her husband John have two children.

Keith Squires

Commissioner, Utah Department of Public Safety

As head of the Department of Public Safety, Squires oversees the Utah Highway Patrol, State Bureau of Investigation, State Crime Lab, Statewide Information and Analysis Center, Bureau of Criminal Identification, State Fire Marshal’s Office, Division of Emergency Management, Peace Officer Standards and Training, Driver License Division, Communications Bureau and Highway Safety Office. He has over 30 years as a sworn law enforcement officer and has served as a deputy commissioner, director of the State Bureau of Investigation, assistant superintendent of the Utah Highway Patrol and director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. Squires is recognized nationally for his expertise in various law enforcement and homeland security services and has served on a number of related committees.

Squires holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a master’s degree in Homeland Security and Defense from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the FBI National Executive Institute, and is a senior fellow at George Washington University Center for Cyber & Homeland Security.

Kris Cox

Executive Director, Utah Governor's Office of Management and Budget

Kristen Cox is the executive director of the Utah Governor’s Office of Management and Budget (GOMB). Appointed to the position by Gov. Herbert in 2012, she has worked diligently to integrate operational excellence with the state’s management and budgeting practices. The mission of GOMB is to create more value for every tax dollar invested. Under Kris’ leadership, Utah improved government performance by more than 27 percent by January 2017, exceeding the 25 percent goal set by the Governor. The work to improve government is never over, and the focus has now shifted to targeted improvements at specific state agencies.

Kris received her Bachelor of Science in Educational Psychology from Brigham Young University. She served an LDS mission in Brazil and treasures any opportunity to speak Portuguese. Kris is an avid reader and loves being active. She and her husband, Randy, have two sons. They love the outdoors, especially hiking Utah’s mountains and trails. Kris’ greatest outdoor adventures have been skydiving, paragliding, skiing, and hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim.

Gil West

Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Delta Air Lines

In his current position, Gil leads the team responsible for safe, reliable operations across the globe. He oversees more than 70,000 employees in airport customer service; cargo; corporate safety, security and compliance; Delta connection; DAL global services; Delta material services; Delta private jets; fleet strategy and procurement; flight operations; in-flight service; operations analysis and performance; operations and customer center; supply chain management; and technical operations.

Joining Delta in March 2008, Gil led the Delta and Northwest airport and customer service merger integration and helped champion customer service and operational improvements which have resulted in consistent annual ranking improvements from the Department of Transportation. Prior to Delta, Gil worked for Laidlaw Transit Services as President and Chief Executive Officer and also held leadership roles at Northwest Airlines, United Airlines and The Boeing Company.

Gil attended North Carolina State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Additionally, he received a Master of Business Administration from National University in San Diego.

Ajai Kapoor

Partner, Goldratt Consulting

Dr. Ajai Kapoor holds a PhD in operations research from Carnegie Mellon University. He is the winner of the Fulkerson Prize. He completed his B.Tech from IT Delhi. He has over 17 years of consulting experience helping companies design innovative, logistical solutions based on the Theory of Constraints (TOC). His passion is to help companies deploy these solutions as a disruptive force in order to obtain a significant competitive advantage. His focus is to first apply principles to create simple solutions that can be implemented at scale. He believes in using the power of TOC to resolve deep conflicts in and between organizations, strengthening the integration within companies and their suppliers and partners. Ajai’s consulting focus has been on operations solutions for high uncertainty environments. He is an entrepreneur, having started a company that focused on providing TOC-based software for project management.
